This might shock you, but you need to be preparing for Christmas NOW.
Here’s the deal: global supply chains have been backlogged for over a year now, and things are hitting a crescendo just in time for the holiday season. We’re even still feeling the ramifications of the Suez canal accident - remember that, all the jokes and memes going back and forth - and it could hit you where it hurts. There is now a global shipping container shortage, which has forced shipping costs to skyrocket the last few months. On top of that, last Christmas saw the US postal system pushed to the brink, and things actually haven’t gotten much better since.
And it’s not just hearsay, we’re experiencing this backlog too. Last year, our product arrived 25 days after it left our manufacturer. This year, it didn’t leave the port until a month after our manufacturer sent it in. There are too many products and not enough shipping containers to get everything here.
Because of this, shipping costs have gone up significantly, and unfortunately that means you’re going to see increased prices. Especially after a really troubling year for a lot of businesses, companies just aren’t going to be able to afford to eat those shipping prices like they’re sometimes apt to do.
But that doesn’t mean you need to panic, you just need to plan. Early. I know lots of people like to wait for Black Friday to start their holiday shopping because of all the deals, but I don’t think you’ll be seeing them this year like you’re used to. So if you’re shopping for the right presents instead of just the cheapest ones, the time to start making those lists and checking them twice is NOW.
Ordering early will also help ensure that you receive everything on time. Last year, USPS handled a record number of packages, and unfortunately a good amount of them ended up lost or significantly delayed. Speaking from personal experience, we don’t work hard all year round, but especially during the holiday season to make our sweaters and ship them out to you within 24 hours, just so that they end up lost in some warehouse where we have no control. We want you to get your sweater, and wear it, and love it. The earlier you order it, the more likely it is to get to you on time.
